Our Saturday

The "Stone Path" lead out of the house today! Im still sore but we were all getting cabin fever. The kids were just getting so bored with being home, Also, I kept reading about othe families plans for the weekend on facebook and it didnt help. So we woke up and went with it. Some close friends of ours were attending a festival in a nearby town and their daughter was going to be dancing with her class..Im sorry but when Im told tiny girls in tutus are gonna be performing. Im gonna be there. I still got a while for Lorelai to be doing those things, so its a tide over. So we went for the dancing and then walked around the festival and looked at all the booths. After we walked down the road to a Taco Shop and had some delicious lunch. After that we parted ways. Our family decided to go to Target. Finn received a gift card for his birthday so we thought we'd see what we can find. He ended up with 2 shirts and his first package of pullups. While there, we shopped to no avail for a winter coat for Lorelai and took a walk through the Halloween section. Daddy seemed to enjoy and play more there than the kids but eh..adults are just grown up kids, right? Upon leaving there we stopped a a kids clothing store in the area and found a perfect coat for the little miss. The problem was with Target all the ones that I liked were some kind of animal skin lined. It was all fake but I just never feel right about promoting it. Now Im not some crazy vegan or anything. I just dont believe in how the animal skin industry tends to go. Ive seen videos and done my research and so much illegality tends to go on to obtain some of it. Im a use the whole animal kind, kill it for food and use the skin for things we need, if you live somewhere that the temperatures make it so fur is actually necessary just as long as its obtained humanely Im good king of girl ..haha. I hate the idea of animals suffering for a fashion statement. Dont worry I still like a great hamburger off the grill. like I said I just want it to come to me humanely.

Anyway, I strode a little off topic there, eh? Anyway the coat is adorable and we found matching knit cap and gloves to match. After leaving there, we decided to stop at our friend's from earlier for a bit. We were there about an hour, I guess, when the kids started getting grumpy and tired. Not to mention. our son wouldnt stop torturing there cat cus he is a 2 year old crazy little boy ..haha. We came home where the entire family took a nap. The rest of the evening was just spent home, eating some leftovers.

Tomorrow, however, is definetly cleaning day! Since I was down a couple days, it looks like my husband and kids, had a party! Hope the hubs wasnt planning on video games tomorrow!

It's the Weekend!

We are up watching cartoons with the kids. Thinking of the things that need to get done today. Kids have a checkup appt at 3. Hoping to ask about Finn's speech at that point. We need some groceries, hoping to maybe find some Halloween costumes for the kids and maybe a winter coat for Lorelai. We have had a couple of cold snaps so its time to get one just in case another one sneaks up on us. Or, of course, in case winter decides to hit permanently. Have a fairly busy weekend ahead of us. Tomorrow is our turn to participate in the group garage sale, Sunday we have a few plans with friends, and of course, after all that, we have a Halloween party that morning.

I believe I'll answer another question from my previous blog http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=8488891101189008465#editor/target=post;postID=7673942867893345756

3, Describe your relationship with your parents.
My parents split when I was in kindergarten. I was mostly raised by my dad and stepmom. I would occasionally visit my mom and step dad. Growing up my dad and step mom were fairly uptight and strict about things that I did, It kept me out of a lot of trouble but also caused me to abruptly move out the first semester of college. I was a good kid and Im not just saying that. I was awesome at making my curfews, I didnt do anything illegal, I dated the nice guys. To this day Ive never tried a cigarette or any type of drug. I was in college before I had my first drink and have never had enough to even get a hangover. So when I got to college and they started telling me to be home by 10pm, on the weekends, I found that unfair. The night I decided to move out was the night I was studying for a college algebra final. I had a friend tutoring me (I am absolutely horrible at math) and when 9 o' clock rolled around (curfew was 9:30 during the week), I called because there was no way I'd be done and home in 30 minutes. Now, considering what I was asking to stay out for, I didnt think it was an issue. I wasnt partying or out having a good time, I was trying to pass this class by the skin of my teeth. Well, unfortunately, they completely freaked out that I was going to be late. I decided at that point I was fed up by the lack of freedom. They complained about how much I had been late recently. Again, I wasnt doing anything I wasnt suppose to be doing. I had a job that I was usually at late or I was studying my butt off. I am not someone that good grades came naturally for, I really had to work for it. That night I stayed at the dorm of the girl who was helping me study, and the next day went and talked to housing, who were able to set me up with a dorm. Paying for it was one of the hardest things Ive done.

When I moved out, I still kept up talking to them and my sister who was still young at home. I didnt avoid them or stop talking to them. I didnt hate them I just got tired of never being trusted, when I felt I had earned it.

A few years later, there have been rocky points in our relationship but we have one. Ive had to learn to stand my ground on some things but with boundaries everything goes smoothly and the kids have a relationship with their grandparents. To this day, my dad still makes quips about the wedding we chose to have and that it should have been at a different location on his terms. My fiance and I spent a year working our butts off on our wedding to make it happen..We didnt ask for anything until the end when we just had a couple of loose ends to tie up..We had taken care of the place and all...we were basically asking for help with the food. They said no to what asked. We had chosen to have the wedding in Fort Worth where we lived and my parents offered to pay for it only if we move it to their town...We had carefully chosen a beautiful location that we loved and that we could afford. We had the place paid for at that point and they wanted us to cancel it. The place they wanted us to have it at do everything for you basically and at that point I really wanted to decorate the wedding myself. I was using our wedding as my trial run to get into that industry. I dont regret anything about it. The day was beautiful and everytime I look at the pictures, Im still happy with what we did..However, to this day, my dad will make comments about what we should have done. At this point its more offensive than it was then, mostly because of just how hard we worked to make it happen.

When we visit now things for the most part are calm. Im sure there are childcare things I do that they dont agree with but they have restrained themselves in that department. So I guess you could say my relationship with them is polite. I still look forward to going home and seeing them. At the same time, Im always a little anxious about it. I think its just simply that we have entirely different personalities. Again, I certainly dont hate them or anything but we are just entirely different.

Pain pain go away!

The procedure today was successful, however it left me in a lot of pain. Thanks to the hydrocodone prescribed its temporarily subsided. I really hope this party doesnt last long. I miss feeling well and playing with my babies.

If anyone reading this has a 2 year old, I have a question for you. We are starting to get concerned. Finn is this coordinated, mechanically minded child. However, while his vocabulary is a little more than 20 words, its so rare that he initiates conversation. He will repeat things, if he has multiples of something he will count to 2 or 3, and he will ask for bites of food. Other than that, I have to ask him to talk. If I ask he will ask for a cracker or a drink, or say nose and point to it. We have a check up appt for him tomorrow anyways, so I will be asking but Im just feeling so concerned. Im gonna at least ask for a hearing test to rule that out..cus he does like to walk around babbling. A lot of the babbling almost sounds like words so thats why my concern for his ears. I just want to make sure this is his pace at learning and not reason for concern. Over the last week, Ive increased how much I talk to him about, we spend more time reading and singing songs..Im hoping these things will help some. However, the kid has a fairly short attention span(thank you A.D.H.D Daddy).

So my question is, any of you with kids this age, do you have the same concern? Does your kid have much conversation with you. Or if you have been in my position, what was done for your child? Any input is welcome! Like I said so many of his actions show a fair amount of intelligence so Im not sure how concerned, at this point, Im suppose to be. Thanks in advance!

My Man is Slow at Getting Ready..Is Yours?

Getting to leave for the kidney procedure..Wish me luck! My husband, as usual, is taking forever to get ready so I have a few minutes. I am already up showered and dressed with both kids dressed, on top of having their bag packed for the day. Moms become such great multitaskers! Now I just feel like I hurried up to slow down and wait on him..of course! While I wait I will answer another of my survey questions from my post "While the Trains Bang"

17. What is the thing you most wish you were great at?

I most wish I was great at organizing a home! I see so many people who have a real knack for it and all these amazing ideas. I would love to be one of them! I hate clutter but suck at organizing. If I work hard at it for a while I can eventually make a space look decent but I wish it was second nature like it seems to be for some. That would really make my life easier. With the 2 littles running around, more often than not items just get put in an open available space to be forgotten about.

Well "laters baby"..if you've read 50 Shades of Grey you will appreciate that one :)

Anxious

Up waaay too late! Im finding it difficult to get sleepy and relax my mind enough to go to sleep. Seems the more going on in my day life the longer I stay awake at night thinking about it. I need to come up with some kind of system or routine that will calm my thoughts when I lay down at night. Im sure other moms can agree.

I spent the evening in the hall closet and came out of that with 2 boxes and a large Target bag of items to get rid of. This on top of the 3 boxes of Finn clothes! Maybe Ill make some nice spending cash. Spending cash that will in turn probably be used for a tent for a big group camping trip Oct 20th.

Today, is also the day of my kidney stone procedure. I think thats my biggest sleep pusher. The anxiety of having a procedure done under anesthesia does help. But I figure maybe that will help make up for loss of sleep. They are gonna knock me out anyways! The only issue is I had to stop consumption of food and drink at midnight. So now at 4:30am, the hunger is creeping in. If I was sleeping like Im SUPPOSE to be doing, this wouldnt be noticed! UGH!
I guess since Im here I can answer one of the survey questions from here: http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=8488891101189008465#editor/target=post;postID=7673942867893345756

19. If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why?
I think I would choose Orlando. I would love to be back working for the mouse again. When I was there last, I loved my job. I loved the people I worked with, I loved meeting those who came to the park(I worked in Animal Kingdom, driving the train in Africa). Best part was meeting the Make-A-WIsh families. Being able to help in making their experience magical was amazing! I think now that Im at a different time in my life, if I were to work there again, I would most aim to work my way into the wedding services. I want to be one of those big shot wedding planners and I think making it happen from there would be a dream come true! Not to mention giving a girl her perfect Cinderella wedding to send her and her beloved into their blissful future would be pretty rewarding.

Ok, I must be off to bed and I must make myself sleep this time. Those kiddies are gonna be up offly early. Feel free to take that list of questions to your blog to answer! Just let me know you did! Id love to read what others put! I got it from a fellow blogger and loved reading through their answers!

Clearing Out the Junk!

Decided to stop chores and chronicle the day a little. The hubs is off today, and was kind enough to get up with the kids so I could catch up on sleep. Love those days! Almost makes me feel a tad guilty though considering he will have to be keeping up with the kids the next couple of days. Tomorrow morning I am going in to have the stone stuck in my right kidney vibrated to smitherines! Little nervous. I have never had anything like this done so Im not sure what to expect of recovery. Hoping it will not have me in too much discomfort! After all, as helpful as Daddy is, the kids wont care that I dont feel well.

Due to the unknown, I am trying to get things done today for a big group garage sale we are participating in this weekend. I love this! I am have been in desparate need of going through closets and cleaning out the place. We are running out of room! We are in a 2 bedroom apt right now saving and paying things off on our way to a home. So until we have our down payment the best we can do right now is just clear space. I have been itching to get rid of closet and toybox contents. So many things have moved around with us and keep getting stored, time to let them go.

So far I have gone through my sons clothes and came up with 3 good sized boxes of them to get rid of. Its hard to go through your sons baby clothes, when you just had to face the music of him turning 2. But it is what it is. I promised myself no more babies until we have our house. We have room for our family now but one more and we would officially outgrow our place. A big reward system, if you will..haha.

Anyways I have about 30 more minutes before Im sure someone will be waking up from nap and distracting me from my work. Just wanted to catch up. I still plan to post pictures of Finns tot school activity from tuesday but to be honest when we left the house, we stayed out all evening. The weather was beautiful. So as soon as I finished the lab work, we stopped to visit Daddy at work, picked up snacks and spent the evening until 7 at the park. I decided that was way better than any indoor activity. Anyways until later...

Tuesday Tot School

Just wanted to share Finns activity for this afternoon. He tends to take a lot shorter naps than his sister, so in order to keep him kinda quiet for her, I use activities to keep him occupied and tease his little brain at the same time:). Hopefully later I can post pictures of everything in action. I stayed up last night trying to decide on something fun to do with him today. This is what I came up with.
First of all, we have spent this month working a lot on Ps and Os..O=October and P=pumpkin. I created this so he can also match by colors and size.
For a little more matching fun, I made a page of matching pumpkins and leaves and again I made them different colors and sizes. The leaves also have to be turned the correct direction. The bottom page I drew for him to color in.

Ill be sure to get pictures of him working on it.

Right now we are getting ready to leave the house. I have to have pre-op lab work done today. Thursday I am going in for a procedure. Apparently, my right kidney has a stone in it that is too large to pass on its own. They want to break it into gravel so that it will pass through, finally. Over the last couple of years, Ive had problems with kidney stones. Im anxious for them to remove some of this so they can find what they are made of. Which means Im sure there will be diet changes soon. Although that probably needed to happen anyways.

So I am off to finish dressing my littles and trying to get out the door!
